I saw my speedo pass 150. I'm not sure how far past it I got, but I think I was pretty close to 160. Still pulling strong in 5th...

I've gotten my 95 Z up to 120 and there are always cops around so even if it was day time I didn't care, I pussed out and backed down.

My buddy who no longer lives here used to have a 2000 or newer (can't remember for sure) Z28, first day he brought it up we took it to a nice straight away, he let me drive it and told me to punch it, I got it up to 120. He came back the next day and I got it up to 130 and pussed out, I was running out of road pretty fast though.

My buddy used to go around 155 MPH at night, by a river, in between huge clusters of trees, which is prime area for deer but he didn't really care, he tore that Z28 all up by the time that he was done with it...

145mph. Racing a Porche, and, beat him bad from 60mph roll. Then I backed down, but still had alot more. (Lt1 - AFR-190's - Crane cam - p600b - MM6 - 3.73:1) The guy was upset a lowly Camaro kicked his butt.

Ben, ya I remember doing that high speed run. Those were the good 'ol days for sure. Probably a good thing we don't do high speed runs like that very often anymore. You would be proud of me as I just received a speeding ticket in Kentucky this past Saturday with my Mom's cavalier... 79 in a 55. I now have received a ticket with every vehicle in my family. Oh well, it will keep me in check when this summer comes around as I think I will be hitting the track a bit more! Take care and talk to you later!

161 @ 5000 in OD in my 1995 Z28 A4 with just a CAI, on GPS. Speedo was pegged. I don't know if it had much more in it or not.

this was here in Tucson. There's a couple of places to do it, most is freeways. You can get going pretty god between here and pheonix or if you take I10 east bound there's alot of flat open area

I capped off 160 with just bolt ons. Now with the 383 it could do it way faster but i rarely do stuff like that anymore.

Took mine to the top of 3rd gear with the A4 / 2.73's just after I bought the car ..... with a speedo that reads to 250 km/h (155 mph) I had to know "what would it do?"

Well let's just say, the needle was hitting the volt meter on the dash!! According to that, and the fact that top of 3rd is between ~165 - 168 mph, then that's "about" how fast I was going!! Haven't done it since.

BUT, I've hit ~145 - 150 a couple times, ~130 a few more times, and ~120 WAY too many times since!! So far the only "legal" place I've found to do 120 mph was on the race track at Mosport .

I did the same thing, only I had 4.10s tuned for 3.23s and buried that speedo. Does look cool
I don't know about that. I don't know the math either tho, but I have 4.10s and stock tires, stock tune, and a friend paced my speedo at 7mph FASTER than I'm going, and its pretty linear from 10mph to as high as we've paced, probably around 80, its never off more than 7 to 9 mph.
Could of been tuned before I bought it, but I don't think it was as there are a few areas of my PCM failing, it wouldn't of been worth it to tune. And its still off...even a bad tuner could of got closer than 7-9 off I would think.

Anyway we estimate mine hit 160ish, pegged the speedo and was still pulling in 5th gear.

Plug in your specs (tire size, gears ect.) in this site. It will give you an accurate speed whether your speedo has been calibrated correctly or not.

Well, it assumes tach accuracy and for autos, no converter slippage.

I know I've had it well above 150 many times, but I still had the 115 MPH speedo in, I did get clocked by a state trooper at 147 once so that is my highest CONFIRMED speed. I drive 140 miles one way to work every 3rd day and the first 80 miles of the trip is pretty desolate ( I call it my low altitude flight path)
