Going to buy oil right now...105k on 97 lt1...what kind of oil and how many bottles.also what oil filter???need to kno right now thanks

5 quarts of whatever decent 10w-30 you prefer will work. When I had my lt1 it got mobile 1 every 5k miles. If you don't want to spend that much money, pretty much any decent oil (havoline, valvoline, quaker state,castrol, penzoil, etc...) will work just fine.

5 quarts of Mobil 1. I used 5-W30 up to the 140,000 mile mark. Thats when I pulled for the rebuild, and the motor looked great.

Its been discussed many times in the past.... Search the forums and everyone has their own opinions...

I personnaly use Mobile 1 5w30 winter and 15w50 summer.....

I now use 0w-40 mobil 1 and a pf1218 ac delco filter.

I also use 0w-40 mobil 1 but I like the K&N oil filters because they have a nut on the bottom for easy removal.

I normaly just get the 10w-30 mobile one with a wix oil filter. 112k on the car and still running good.
