Re: What headers??

I don't have headers yet, but when I finally do order them its definatley going to be Pacesetter LT's. I have read all good things about quality, installation, and of course the low price. Just do a search on Pacesetter and you will see nothing but good things.

Re: What headers??

Longtubes are the best. Lots of people who buy shorties regret it later on.

Re: What headers??

I do not have first hand experience with the Pacesetters. However, from everyone's conscensice these are the easiest headers to install and give excellent gains. However, I have the Long Tube Hooker Headers, Coated, with 02 bungs and EGR. These are a work of art. I wouldnt replace them. However, these are $600+ headers.

Re: What headers??

I wanted to keep everything on my SS 'SLP', so I chose their L/T Headers, Y-Pipe, w/ Random tech High-flow cats. They hang somewhat low, so if lowering your car is in the future, you may not want them.

I'm very satisfied with the quality and sound

Re: What headers??

i really would discourage the purchase of Jet Hots longtubes...they modified the design i believe, and you practically have to remove the engine from the car (atleast unbolt the block, raise it up quite a bit and still have a rough time fitting the driver side header in. and no, this wasnt just a one time occurance, when me and my friends were done, we did a search, and found another guy who did a writeup and had the same problems. i would definately go with the pacesetters and get them coated by a local reputable shop who does that. pacesetters coating isnt all that great.

Re: What headers??

If money is at all a concern, go with the Pacesetters. They are probably the best you will find for under $700. I paid $250 for mine. I didn't even have to jack up the motor. Both sides just slid in from the top, no clearence issues at all.

I don't regret getting mid length MAC headers at all. Easy install, good price, good gains, and I still have perfect ground clearence. Not to mention the fact that LTs and Mids almost have the same amount of gains. Chevy Hi Performance did dyno tests with them both. The LTs got 5-10 more at peak.

I will attest to that. I had pacesetter lts, and sold them and got mac mids. I could not feel any difference in power, my ground clearance is better, and the isntall was way easier. I suggest mac mids to anyone.

Re: What headers??

No one has mentioned spark plug access on any of the above headers, which have the best access to the plugs as I know some are almost impossible to get at a couple of the plugs?
