The A4 park/lock cable is the cable that plugs into the ignition switch correct?

After finishing up an M6 conversion- I couldn't get the key to come out of the ignition. So I went under there and noticed that a cable wasn't in there all the way - so I pushed it in further - and the key came out fine. I am just wondering if this is the cable that controls whether or not the key turns out - or did I move a different cable down there?

Also, I'm having a weird issue that I don't know whats causing it. Usually while in reverse, going real slow, my speedometer will jump up to like 100 MPH and then quickly go back down to zero while the car is barely moving. It doesn't seem to be effecting anything else - but the radio will also occassionally turn louder on its own during this time also. Just curious as to what this wierd issue could be?....
