what could happen if?
I've had some problems with my A/C lately.. anyways.. I have all of the replacement parts in place and the system evacuated and charged. The only way I can get the compressor to run is if I jump the connections where the relay plugs in on the fuse box. And.. from what I read this is usually caused when the PCM detects too low of pressure and it disables the compressor from running. I read to "reset the PCM" which I assumed just meant disconnecting and reconnecting the battery? My dad has a scanner.. and I could use it to clear the codes... not sure if this is what is necessary.. My next question is.. if I run it like it is, with a wire jumping the connect, could it hurt if by the compressor running all the time?
If the system is properly charged the pressure sensor should indicate ok pressure to the PCM. Reset the PCM by pulling the PCM BAT fuse for about 30 seconds. Hopefully, the compressor will now come on with the controls.
