Is this the way GM replacement bumper covers fit??? (PICS)
The front bumper cover and pass fender were replaced in april by a local dealership.
When i picked it up the first time from the bodyshop the front bumper lined up great but the fender looked streched.I noticed after a week the clips on the fender had popped off. Brought it back to them to replace the clips. Ever since then the front bumper has never lined up.
I have been fighting with Statefarm to get this bumper cover on right since June. The body shop tried 6 times to align the bumper. They have tried to force it to fit to the point of the paint spiderwebbing in 3-4 places and GET THIS they cut notches in the area for the turn signals.Big ones clear as day.
"GM outsources its replacements parts to other companys. Therefore all replacement bumpers will fit this way. GM Does NOT CARE. If we put another GM bumper on there the fit will be the same if not worse." Thats what I was told by Statefarm.

It looks like they put a after market (made in taiwan) bumper on there. I'd take it to a different body shop for a second opinion. You want a GM bumper. A GM bumper will come in a GM box, And fit just like your original bumper.

I agree I put some aftermarte front bumper cover on my car when I got it painted. I looks exactly like that with the gaps and not lining up properly. Its annoying as hell and looks cheap, tacky, and ghetto. I want it fixed so badly but can't afford to have my front bumper cover replaced and repainted. But one day I will get it fixed and have it looking like it should.

If it is true, GM is not keeping their trade deal in keeping parts in production until 10 years after being made, and that would be at least 2007.....
