Water only in radiator????

Judges at the local track want only water on the radiator because it is easier to clean in case of leak...

Will this hurt my engine?

save rust, it generally isnt a problem as long as your car never sees freezing temperatures. Use distilled water.

Short term distilled water is fine. Long term, coolant provides lubricant for the water pump, rust inhibitor for the block and raises the boiling point of the fluid in case you do over heat.
