Rare enough that if you like it, get it!

Overall, the majority of Camaros throughout all 4th gen years received cloth interiors; I haven't spent the time to do the math, but let's just assume that it's about 70 to 80%. The Z28s ordered by most dealerships were almost always the easy to sell colors (red, black, silver, white, and whatever teal and/or green was offered each year). Z28s that weren't in those easy to sell colors were few and far between OR they were special ordered by people who basically sat down, ordered their car from the dealer, and got it delivered.

By statistics, Dark Purple Metallic isn't insanely rare, but it IS pretty insanely rare to see at car shows or at any events. All of the purples, teals, and blues (except navy blue) are rare in that regard. Those colors overall were not as common, and a great deal of them in those colors came with V6 engines.

There's no way to break down how many Dark Purple Metallic Z28s received leather to my knowledge. Will you likely find a 1 of 10 car that's Dark Purple? No, because there's no way to break down the options and everything like that as far as I know.

However, the one you found is technically rare... it's just not something you can brag about being 1 of 53 or something like that. Is a Dark Purple Metallic Z28 with graphite leather rarer than a 35th Anniversary SS or some other 'rare' 4th gen Camaro? Yeah, probably.

Purple

Thanks. I took my brother-inlaw to look at it. He was honest and said if he had the money he would buy it before I could.
