Re: V-6 3.8 Liter Ram Air?

I called Fbody motor sports and they said they would do the whole LS1 setup for $8500.00. I know everyone dosent think that its worth it but I would rather spend $8500.00 have a LS1 and have my car the way I want it to look then sell it and probably still have to add another 9 to 10 thousand to buy a SS or Z28 in good condition. So im going to save up the money and get the coversion. Thanks for everyones help. About the pics I just got my SS hood put on the car and the paint looks so I good I decided to repaint the whole car. I'll post pics when its done.

You do know your resale value will be nothing, right?

not smart, but I guess you will learn from your own mistakes. Nothing we say is going to change your mind, it's your money to waste.

Re: V-6 3.8 Liter Ram Air?

I bought my car for $9,500 with 70k on the clock

explain how its more economical to convert yours. I see maybe 9k or 8k for a Z28, sell yours for 5-6, spend 3-4 making the new Z look like your old one, and still have a grand or two left over. now compare that to spending almost 9 thousand for the same thing. !? thats almost what i paid for my car straight up! Just buy another car for that 8500 and have 2 camaros!

You just said your car had 70,000 miles on the engine and trans, both my trans and engine will be new and with my new paint job it will be basicly a new car even to buy a SS or Z28 with 30,000 miles or less it would cost me between 15 and 20 thousand (I have looked) And about the resale value, that dosent really bother me because I dont want to sell it and wouldnt ever unless I had to.

Re: V-6 3.8 Liter Ram Air?

Hey man, I was defending ya earlier but maybe you should reconsider your decision. Not saying your car isnt worthy of an ls1 swap, but it doesnt seem like the best choice financially. Dont forget that just because your engine and trans are new, the rest of the car isnt. Plus, if you ever wanted to sell it you wouldnt be able to get back nearly what you could if you had a Z. Swapped cars will also never be the same as one from the factory. If you wanna do this, all power to ya (no pun intended) just be sure to consider all pros and cons. Good luck

Re: V-6 3.8 Liter Ram Air?

i agree. i cant see spending close to $10k just to get to a mere 300 to 350 RWHP. simple inexpensive mods on a z28 achieve this easily.
