first of all i am a noob and i am sure there are many posts on the subject already, but this is faster. i am looking to purchase an used ls1 with a stick and i was wondering what kind of issues i should really look out for. thanks

 

spend time researching. make sure this is a car that you really want. test drive more than 1 car. look at the car up on a lift. check for oil leaks. ask a lot of questions. run a carfax if you are cereal about buying it.

don't be afraid to demand things! they are your bitch!

 

i know what to look at in general i was more curious about specific problem areas for these cars. such as, clutch, transmission, suspension, or rear-end issues that are particularly common to this model.

 

The clutch, tranny, suspension,and rear-end are adequate in stock trim... Once you start modifying your car, then ALL of those things will need to be addressed as they will surely fail sooner or later.
