Re: Upgrade Help

all spark plugs are created equal, more or less. id recommend platinum tipped ones so you dont have to replace them as often. i like densos, but there isnt much difference. and what do you mean about an x pipe being best? you could leave your banks unconnected all the way to the back, use an H pipe, or X pipe. out of the 3 options, x pipes do make the most power. however, unless you get a true dual exhaust, itll be running down one pipe at some point, meaning you dont need any sort of crossover

Re: Upgrade Help

iv heard from a couple sources that x-pipe would be best, as its basicaly stock. theres not enough Flow to fill a Dual setup efficiently

Re: Upgrade Help

Basicaly stock is a cat-back system. That's a y into one after the cats and then back to two at the back of the muffler. And as far as (theres not enough Flow to fill a Dual setup efficiently),there is enough flow. If your going to do a true dual all the way back then an x pipe is the best to cut down on turbulence and will flow much smoother.

thats what im saying, as in if i were running two independent pipes, with independent cats/mufflers, it wouldnt be as efficient on a stock setup as running an X. yes it would sound nasty, but would have less HP

Re: Upgrade Help

You're missing the point. You really need to look under your car. There is no place to put an x-pipe while keeping a single pipe running back to the muffler.

If you are going to change all of your exhaust, you can add an x-pipe but you will have to run 2 pipes to the rear of the car (or dump them before the axle).

Re: Upgrade Help

Yes,an x-pipe helps with the savaging. In other words it helps pull exhaust out of the cylinder. And yes it will give you more power. An engine is just a big air pump,so if you can help it inhale and exhale easier it will payoff with more power.

Re: Upgrade Help

The air ram that I have I would recommend to anyone. It's an Austin Preformance super sucker air ram. It's plastic not steel like most of them,so it doesn't get heat soaked, and it works great. The only place I've seen it is ws6project.com
