Turns signals

OK I have heard that this is a pretty common issue on f bodies but I just want to know if there is anyway I can fix it. Sometimes my front turn signals mainly don't work. Then they will just start working out of the blue. I have checked all the bulbs and sometimes I find a burnt one but other times they are all fine. What causes this and how can I fix it????

Re: Turns signals

I have a 97 Formula as well. Check the daytime running lights for water. There could be water causing a short. I had the same problem until I replaced all the wiring harnesses etc. It could also be a blink bulb inside the car. Do your daytime running lights work 100% of the time? Like is one light up, while the other isn't? How about if you turn on your headlights, do any daytime running lights go on/off? Do your turn signals work with the headlights on/off, or just the dash lights on/off? Some more info on what is actually happening will be easier.

I had a problem that sounded very similar to yours. It turned out to be a cheap flasher, replaced it, and all was well.

Re: Turns signals

the daytime lights work all the time. but when i turn on the signals they just go out and dont blink. sometimes they work and other times they dont. with the headlights on its the same thing, sometimes they work and sometimes they dont. They either go out or just stay lit and dont blink. I dont know what the deal is.

Re: Turns signals

Sounds like the flasher relay, cheap easy fix.
