trunk release

I recently had seen a page about someone who had instructions on how to fix the trunk release so you didnt have to hit the button 2+ times for the trunk to actually open up. I just left school to go back home for Thanksgiving and i forgot to write the site down. Can anyone please link me to that site? Thanks!

Re: trunk release

I don't know of that particular site, but I think you can correct the problem by adjusting the "stops" under the deck lid?

I've adjusted mine and I only have to hit the unlock button once now.

Re: trunk release

i acutally havent seen that fix, ill try it tomorrow. The one i was referring to was something to do with taking the carpet off and adding a spring to the existing spring.
Thanks

Re: trunk release

Yes, The Fix really DOES work. I "fixed" my hatch about ~2 years ago, and it hasn't failed yet! It was really bad sometimes too.....trust me, nothing pi$$es me off more than something so simple and stupid as a hatch that won't open up even after hitting the button 3, 4, 5 times!!! Like when I've got the car running, and the keys are in the ignition, so you have to hit the button, go to the back, try, NOPE, then go back in the car to hit the button again, and REPEAT several times!!!!...........oh boy, I'd get pi$$ed!!!!!

Works great now though!

BTW, you don't have to go to all that work to pull the carpet out. Just pull it back away from the lock mechanism.....the spring is right there anyway, so you just have to pull the carpet up and over the lock.....I didn't go to all that work of gutting the rear interior!
