Trans cooler lines leaking

replaced my radiator on 95 Z and I cannot get the trans cooler lines to stop leaking. Is there something I'm missing when installing them back on?

I'm not sure if they have orings or anything like that. Are they leaking at the fitting or ??.

I'd consider getting an aftermarket stack plate design, like B&M. Then run some NAPA trans line to and from the transmission. I've had mine like this with no leaks for 8 years.

I think the fittings are just flared. Not sure if i should re-flare them or not?

Re: Trans cooler lines leaking

Are they leaking from the flares? All OEM fittings? What radiator did you replace your old one with, and what was the problem with it in the first place? You're sure they're leaking from the fittings and not elsewhere?

Running both coolers in tandem isn't necessary as mentioned. I've been running a stacked B&M for years now without any problems with trans temp. Might be worth considering.

Had trans fluid and coolant mixing so i took the radiator off my 95 TA. It is leeking from around the pipe where the nut is around it going into radiator. Both the top and bottom are leaking the same way.

Re: Trans cooler lines leaking

You might try some oil proof thread tape and check the condition of the flares to see if they are damaged. Otherwise, it might be the radiator fittings that are not made right. Are you snugging the fittings with a flare nut wrench? What brand radiator is it? I put a Delphi in mine last year and had no issues.

Don't know what brand the radiator is but it has been on my TA for a yr with no problems. Don't have a flare wrench and didn't put thread tape on it. There was an external trans cooler installed on the TA, would anything have been changed?

Re: Trans cooler lines leaking

Hopefully I got it to stop, we will see after driving. I just took the flare tool and went over the flare again.
