Trans am upper dash

I knwo the defroster holes are a bit different on the 97-02upper dash piece, but is the piece itself the same shape? will they interchange?

You will need to clarify your question a bit. Will what years exactly interchange? Trans am - Trans am or Camaro - Trans am?
