Trans Am steering wheel radio controls help

The lights went out on my volume side of my steering wheel radio buttons in my '97 Trans Am. I got another set to replace it and I can get the damn things back in because they don't give you enough slack to hook the connector back up. Does anyone have any tips to help me get it back in?

You could have just spent $2-$3 for 2 LEDs and soldered them into the old buttons you had. You get it connect just keep trying, a pick may make it easier.
