Question Towing tent trailer with a 95 Z28 vert?

I am wondering if it is possible to pull a 1500 pound tent trailer with a tongue weight of of 170 pounds with a 95 Z28 convertable? I want to go camping in Florida this May and want to have my Z28 with me. Thanks

I tow two jetskis w/ my 96 WS6 Vert Six Speed all summer long with no problems. I also surprise a lot of people off the line. Just adjust your tongue weight accordingly and no problem. If you really want to be on the safe side, add a tranny cooler.

Thanks! Is it true that you can't have dual exhaust if you want to put on a hitch?! Someone told me that you can't have the dual exhaust on the drivers side if a hitch goes on! I find that a bit hard to believe.

I don't see why that would matter. As long as none of the exhaust is in the way of the hitch mounting, it shouldn't matter.

You keep your duals w/a hitch. I have put three hitches on 4th Gen F-Bodies. On TA's and Z's. You have to drop the exhaust and dril a few holes, but definitely a DIYer job.

I have a drawtite on my '96 vert. Didn't even need to drop the exhaust - just worked around it. Yes, it was a shoehorn process to raise it, but it was easier than undoing (and probably breaking) rusted bolts. I pull 2 ATV's (one full size, one 50cc) - and the car does fine.

Though, more than one person as commented - "is that a hitch on a camaro?"

I just installed a Hidden Hitch brand on my '96 Z28 and use it tow around my 2004 R1. Can barely even tell there is any extra weight in the back when the bike and trailer are in tow! I also have the Hooker cat-back exhaust and it clears the hitch just fine.

It's not my thing either, but to each their own.

I've only seen hitches fit in on Trans Am's since they have a bigger/lower rear bumper they arent that obvious, every hitch on a camaro I've seen really hangs out!
