Re: too much secondary air?

I'm no expert in this area by any means, but secondary air sounds like the maf is detecting less air that what is going into the engine. ie, a leak b/t the TB and elbow maybe? That's what it sounds like to me. Easy check anyway. Maybe someone else will chime in.

Re: too much secondary air?

If you can somehow get and post the actual code we can be better help.

Re: too much secondary air?

In OBD-II, GM uses "secondary air injection" to stand for the A.I.R. system. Most likely cause of the problem is a blown AIR pump fuse - would set P0410, or a malfunction in the control system (P0412). There is a recall on the AIR system for all 1995 and newer LT1's.

Re: too much secondary air?

All you need to do is call a dealer and verify that the recall is applicable to your car, and that the work has not already been done. Its an emissions recall, so they have to do the work. You might want to do a search to see if you can find a record of the recall campaign number. Its been discussed a few times.

But check the fuse first... its a 25-cent repair, and might save you from having to take the risk of dropping your car off at a dealer.
