Too much?

I might be interested in this 98 SS. Well i had my mechanic look it over and it had a few problems. It has a bad driver front tie-rod, the tranny is leaking, rear-end is leaking, it needs new pads and rotors in the front, and it also has a very minor exhaust leak. Well i talked to him yesterday and he told me his dad wanted $9500 for it. So i told him that i might be willing to do $9500 if they fix all the problems and he said he is willing to do that. So if they fix the problems on the car do you think its worth it or am i still paying too much? Just a little info on the car. Its a 98 Black SS A4 w/ 99k miles, mods wise it has mac mid-length headers, hooker cat-back, and K&N fipk.

Re: Too much?

IMO, 99k miles is a lot for $9500 with all of those leaks and other problems. Brakes are a big deal. I highly doubt he is really willing to fix the brake situation and the leaks and still sell for $9500. If that's the car you really want then you're probably going to talk yourself into getting it, but if it was me I'd settle for a '98 Z28 with 60k miles with less problems for a slightly higher price. Just IMO though, good luck.
