Tired of cooling problem, will this work?
My Z28 has had an overheating problem for years, I've never been able to fix it. I wired in a switch, but I'm tired of turning it on and off in traffic though. A few days ago I was flipping through the latest Summit racing and I came across this;

Think this will work and possibly solve my overheating woes?

Re: Tired of cooling problem, will this work?
I'm betting it would.
It's not really all that different from what you have now - except with that, your switch would be operated automatically with a thermostat.
Go for it.

with your mods, you may as well get a tune from madz28.com, and then you wont have to get a switch as he can take care of fan turn on settings with programming

Sounds like a bandaid fix for an actual problem. The 93's run pretty hot from the factory. Mine stock would get to about 220 before the fans would come on. This is how they were programmed from the factory. How hot is yours running?
Most of the time you can solve this by installing a 160 thermotstat and a new program turning the fan start temperatures down.
Why do you have to flip your manual switch on and off in traffic, if your that worried about it just leave them on all the time.

Rigging an electrical component on a car is ALWAYS bad news, it has the potential of causing an electrical fire at any time. I know, I see it all the time in the automotive parts industry where people have ghetto fix there cars, take it to someone if you dont know what you are doing and get it fixed right.
