Re: Throttle Body Bypass

well there have been dyno results to show it saves you horsepower. It doesn't actually make hp, it keeps you from losing it. try www.ws6.com. I believe it saved 6 rwp. I say do it, just don't add it to your sig.

I'm gonna give it a try. But I'm too lazy to add to my sig.

I've run my car in 0degF weather here in NJ with no evidence of "throttle body icing". I think the system was designed for people living north of the Arctic Circle.

I've never had a car with a TB heater, and i froze the water in the block on my Mustang a few winters ago (no antifreeze) and the TB still didnt stick. I have no idea how in the hell it would stick.

Re: Throttle Body Bypass

In theory, its the moisture in the air ( = humidity) that can condense on cold parts and start to freeze. Doesn't seem to be a realistic concern.

Espescally since my skin is starting to fall off from this DRY, cold weather.

The TB bypass was the first thing I did to my car. I'd had the car for 3 days, ended up stuck at school with a gallon of coolant sitting on the ground under the car. Somehow the collant line got schredded by the alternator fan. Talk about embarassing. But I'd do it again, my sig looks much better now.

There's not much in my sig, but if I had to add it, it would read TB Coolant Delete. Even if I what to use the coolant to warm the TB I couldn't because there isn't anything to hook the hoses to. How does, "TB 4mm over bore" sound?

Re: Throttle Body Bypass

I did it to my car, at the same time I installed a 1LE elbow, new gaskets on top and bottom and intake side of the TB, and thorougly cleaned the TB with it off ...

It ran noticably better but I don't know if it was the TB bypass I did It can't hurt to do it!
