Oh how I wish I could just flash the codes like a 3rd gen


Anyways, 95 Z28 A4... and My check engine light has been coming on lately and it seems to only be really when I start the car its on for maybe one block of driving then it goes off. Sometimes longer but not usually. And as often but it occasionally will come on when I'm in a Drive thru or something. But when it does come on, the fans kick on As soon as the light goes off, the fans go off. It's weird. It's really not that often, enough so that I was going to post it a while ago but it hasn't been bugging me these days, but it did it again 2 days ago. Are the fans kicking on any indication what it could be?

 

Always easier to scan it rather than guess, but 90% of the time, the symptoms you describe are the result of a blown fuse for the AIR pump. DTC 29 sets, and the fans run.

 

The fans run because of the DTC. Nothing abnormal about that. Scan for codes. There is no point in guessing.
