Thinking of buying a '99 Z28

Hey guys,
I have been looking through some threads here and doing some research on the Z28's. I am just wondering what you guys think about a '99 Z28 with 101k miles on it. The owner has had it since the car had 32k miles. It has had a new clutch, transmission, steering rack, window motor, and brakes and rotors put on in the past 18 months. The only problem the car has is the muffler fell off it (is this common?). He said it could use tires soon, too. Interior (leather) and exterior are in good shape. What is a good price for the car? What should I look out for? I am trying to get the car for around $6300. Is this a fair price? Any info would be helpful. Thanks for all your information.

Pete

Why the new transmission?

Two years ago I got a '99 M6 T/A w/83k miles for $7,500. Sold it a year later for $8,200. $6,300 doesn't sound too bad.

Window motor is common but the rest were replaced quite pematurely I think. Nevertheless I'd go for it for the price - and not a dollar more. As said above it might be a good idea to look around a little more.

Mine's a '98z28 with most parts still stock. I paid $9600 for it 2 years back at 79K miles.

That's a pretty good price for an LS1; and if you ask me all those new parts are a bonus... and who cares about the muffler... you'll want to be puting an aftermarket exhaust on it any way.

Thanks for the reply guys. I asked the guy why so much new stuff recently, he told me that he took it to his mechanic while (still) under warranty because he heard "noises" from these items. It looks to be in line with KBB, so I think I will try for it. Thanks.
