Is there suppose to be a seal here???

I have a 97 Trans Am WS6. This is a very simple question. Is there suppose to be a gasket or seal between the air box and the hood? As a bonus question. Is there an aftermarket pipe to replace the stock rubber pipe between the air box and the MAF?

The stock WS6 airbox has a formed rubber gasket glued to the top of the airbox.

The seal looks like it use to be glued to the hood, not the airbox.

They do sell those, they are called smooth bellows. I have only seen them for LS1s though.
