TCC Lockup solenoid 4L60
TCC Lockup solenoid 4L60
Question... when I'm driving my '94 3.4 auto, when the transmission reaches lockup speed and gear during normal driving (mid-late 40's mph, 4th gear), it will continue to stay locked above that speed -- UNLESS I let off the accelerator to coast. Then it unlocks. Press down on the accelerator, and the rpm increases slightly, TCC locks and RPM's fall accordingly. Let off the accelerator, it unlocks.
I don't remember this on previous transmissions. Is this normal?
I had a scanner plugged in with live data. TCC brake switch is OFF when this is happening, so it's not a stuck brake switch or anything. TPS reads 0.67 at idle and any time foot is off the accelerator when coasting. Coasting indicates 0% throttle.
Shouldn't the TCC stay locked?? (unless slowing down, or lots of throttle inducing a downshift?)

Re: TCC Lockup solenoid 4L60
This thread is a bit confusing.... The topic is shown as "TCC Lockup solenoid 4L60". That trans was only used in the 1993 models. He has a 1994, which would have the "4L60E" electronically shifted version.
What does a bracket have to do with convertor lockup...... confusing?
