the converter is awesome the car is in need of some sticky tires.it blows my street radials right off.anyways i was doing some wot runs after the install and i can feel what seems to be a bog but was informed by andre at edge that the bog feeling is a slight drop in rpms when the converter locks up and in doing so is supposed to produce better hp and trap speeds.this happens around third gear at i dont know 60 to 75 maybe.so i asked bryan at pcmforless about it and he says he can program it out or change the speed in wich this happens but also said the same as andre that i will notice more good from it??what do u think?

 

In 3rd gear at WOT you should not have converter lockup . I think it will make you slower if it is .

 

it may be the end of second just wasnt paying to much attention at the time but will play with it some more.soooo what ur saying is it should lock up in second gear up high before switching to 3rd.

 

No , if you're at WOT (pressing accelerator all the way down , you
should not be getting lock up. Your rpms should keep climbing in a quicklike fashion. If it is engaging your lock up then rpms are slower to rise slowing you down in almost all cases. Now on my 86 car I have a manual switch to the lock up(TCI stall)and activate it whenever I want except 1st gear. I can even be wot in 4th gear and hit the switch for a little bit more top end (not to many times though).

 

ok i just made two passes from 1st gear at wot in 3rd between 70 and 80 it locked up and the rpms fell just a little but enough to feel.and man it pulls like crazy now especially through 2nd.so is this hurting me u think it would, i mean would it be that big of a deal in the quarter.almost seems like it shouldnt lock up.so whats the fix change in computer where it locks up.
