tailgate overhangs

Hi all - new here, just bought a 1995 Z28. The tailgate seems to overhang the back bumper by about 1/2 to 3/4" of an inch when closed. The gap at the top of the glass near the roof looks normal. The far left and right sides of the tailgate are flush with the rear fenders when closed, but it's the curved section under the spoiler on the tailgate that comes down between the taillights and overhangs. Otherwise it looks and functions completely normal. Appreciate any help on this one.

Re: tailgate overhangs

Do you mean the rear lower edge of the hatch lid, between the tail lights, overlaps the filler panel (where it says "CAMARO") between the lower edge of the hatch and the flexible bumper cover?

Stock photo I found for comparison
