Exclamation Tail Lights cloudy or scratched??? See inside....

I purchased a set of tail lights described as "flawless" from a board member....and this is what I received.....

Needless to say I was not happy.....lots of scratches and cloudyness. Washing would not clear any of it up....believe me I tried.

Well after a couple of hours of hand polishing with Meguiars Plastix on one of the tail lights.......I now have this.....bottom one.....

Polished on left, Unpolished on right, ......

Needless to say this Plastix is some good stuff. I still have plenty of work to do on them....but at least the lights can be salvaged.

I thought others might like to see the results of this good plastic polish. Make your lights shiny again!!!!

Once I'm done with these, I may sale them. I bit the bullet and bought brand new tail lights for my Z.

what i do for the hazy ls1 headlights is some 2000grit wet/dry sand paper, then polishing compound, then plastic polish.

the polish i use is from a marine store for boats, but its the same stuff.

always comes out nice.

eastwood sells some stuff called Novus i think that has a 3 step plastic polish.

You beat me to it.

If you have really bad problems, try a 1500grit then go up to 2000 before polishing.
