tail light bulb

i did the search, didnt find anything.
on my driver side tail light the very outside bulb is out. so i take the light fixture out and pull the bulb out. go to take the bulb by itself out from whatever is holding it inside, and it seems to be 1 complete assembly!
so do i have to buy the bulb assembly from GM? with the wires coming out of it? or am i missing something?
TIA

Rotate the bulb counter-clockwise 90 degrees and it should come out with a gentle pull.

So no, you do not have to buy the whole assembly...just the bulb.

That one just pulls out...I believe it is a 194 bulb or some other mini bulb.

No twisting or anything...just pull it out. You may need to gently wiggle it a bit since its likely been in there for a few years...but it'll come out.

it is a 194 bulb

the rubber of the socket is probably melted to it, if needed, take a sharp knife and cut the bulb loose

it's a 194 bulb, just like your license plate bulb.

You could use a 168 (3cp) The 194 is 2cp.... But the 168 only has half the life of a 194....

ok guys, that bulb had me stumped. but my excuse, due to all the condensation built up and it being in there so good, i was pulling on it hard as i could without squeezing it and it busting.
so anyway, once my it dried out this morning i got it out.

well thanks for the help guys.
