t56 transmission mount

I broke the stock transmission mount and bought a new one at autozone and it is making the car have a lot of noises and vibrations and noises. Whatever the case maybe I have found that the polyurathane mount is bad from a the last camaro z that i owend. I notice that there are differnt positions to mont it in. More to the front of the car or to the back. I have moved it twice. Very little inprovement.

Any ideas or suggestions.

Thanks Guys,

Re: t56 transmission mount

Sometimes the mounts have to break in. If you are sure you mounted it correctly, give it some time.

Also, since you broke your mount, it is possible that you broke something else as well such as the driveshaft or something in your rearend.

Get an LS1 mount from your GM dealership.

I broke my stock mount about 3K miles ago, bought a polyurethane mount from Energy Suspension and it rattled my car everytime it shifted and constantly vibrated my center console. I couldn't take it anymore and bought the stock mount and the car feels much better.

Re: t56 transmission mount

the poly mounts are a lot stiffer so they're just sending all the vibrations from the transmission straight to the chassis. i also notice on the Energy Suspension poly mount you had to push the tranny over like 3mm to line up the bolts which could also have some play in the vibrations. i just went to GM and bought a new factory one and its smooth again. all in all, poly mounts suck for daily driving

Re: t56 transmission mount

I too removed my poly mount due to excessive vibration and went with the 1LE design, which I believe is now the stock part sold by GM. Some guys are also using the LS1 mount in a LT1.

Re: t56 transmission mount

When i had an A4 in this car, the poly mount rattled my teeth out. When i swapped to a T56, i put the poly mount in for ****z and it was smoother than the stocker mount. Go figure.

Re: t56 transmission mount

similar question to original thread-as i stated above i just put in a new tranny mount from GM and its awsome, but under a load the shifter still moves a tiny tiny bit, motor mounts going bad/loose?? or is it just because the OEM mount is rubber and it has that much flex in it?
