Switchblade Keys?

Is it possibly to cut switchblade keys such as the ones you see on VW cars to fit a Camaro? If so what would be the cheapest route to go and can you reprogram the electronics on them? By the way I have a 86 Camaro so that would prob be very hard.

Re: Switchblade Keys?

I'd imagine that the regular switchblade keys can't be made to work with a Camaro ignition since cars that use the switchblade keys don't have the "wings" that go around the head of the key, if that makes sense. Now taking a regular Camaro key and making it into a switchblade should be doable.

Well could you cut the key itself off and weld/grind a camaro key on?

Re: Switchblade Keys?

On a theoretical level, I'd imagine its possible to take one apart, then remove the key thats on there and rig a Camaro key in.

I know there impractical but there just so cool to fiddle around with and there may be a possibility of reprograming the buttons to pop my doors but that will be a long shot all togather.
