Suggest a vaccum pump for A/C work...

I'm pretty sure the A/C compressor in my '94 is leaking, and I'm not going through a TX summer with no A/C. Can anyone suggest a good vaccum pump for A/C system use? I have a 6hp/30 gallon compressor that I could use with the air powered type. What should I look for to make sure I get a decent unit that will last? I really don't know much about them.

I have an air powered vacuum pump and if I use it the compressor runs all the time, so I bought a like new electric powered vacuum pump from a pawn shop. Right now would be a good time to look at pawn shops for a pump because they might have a decent selection of them, once the weather warms up there will not be any of them on the shelves.
One thing to look for on the electric pumps is the oil level (mine has a window on the side to check oil level) if its low it the previous owner might have neglected it and might have caused premature wear.
