Hi everybody this is my first post im new to the club and i just got my 95 z and im lovin it i alredy had my first run in with the optispark and got that fixed now im focusing on this stupid rattle coming from th back of the car i took the carpet out and went under the car and it sounds and feels like its coming from where the jack is mounted to the car by the spare tire anyone have a clue what i should look for or how to fix

 

Check to see if your catalytic converter has gone bad because my car had this rattle noise that got especially bad when my car was at idle, turnded out a piece of carbon had broken loose inside and was causing a really bad rattle, not to mention it was hurting the gas mileage and performance of my car.

 

Could be the spare tire/jack itself. If they're not stowed correctly they can make a metallic racket from the back of the car.

 

Yea im pretty sure its not the jack i actually removed it and the spare and it still stupid rattled ill try lookin at the cat but the guy i got it from said it was gutted can the rattle really originate in the cat and end up sounding like its cummin from way in the back? it kinda sounds like something may be hittin the gas tank and now its doin it when i go over road tittys wonder if somebodt left a tool up in ther or something
