STS/Procharger or Suspention upgrade???
I am looking to upgrade my car. I want to have a 500/600 hp car that is good on the strip/race track and also a dailly driver. I am looking into the forced induction due to the fuel saving abilities over other bolt ons. I have been looking into a few different things. The first thing I looked at was the SLP 400 hp kit for close to $4000. http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=28036 Then I saw a kit made by STS that is a rear mounted turbo system that can net over 500 ponies and around 545 ftlbs of torque for a total near $6500. I was very interested in that. Now I have started to look at Prochargers. I found a site that sells it for $5500 and have gotten interested in that as well. http://www.rpmoutlet.com/fbodyati.htm Since I havent had much to do at work today I started to look into the suspention forum here. I know I will need to upgrade my suspension but should I start with that? I am new into racing and still fairly young. What should I do? Where should I start? Any sudgestions are greatly appreciated.
Oh yea, I left out the link to the STS site. http://www.ststurbo.com/camaro_ls1
Suspension first definitely. Is your car completely stock, or did I just misread? If so, take care of boltons and suspension upgrades first, or do it all at once. What's the use in having 500 hp if you can't drive it other than in a straight line?
How big is your budget? If you are even thinking about going with a turbo/super charged setup that will make 500+hp, you really need to spend some time in the forced induction section and ask a lot of questions.
The price of the turbo/super charger kit is just the tip of the iceburg.
