Stripped Brass Headlight Gear

So yeah, put one of those nice brass gears in and it lasted about a month I just did the temporary fix on it now. The real kicker is I made sure to tigthen the metal motor housing to the plastic gear housing.....

So the real question is does anyone know a better way to secure the metal housing to the plastic one or is it just my luck this happened again...?

Ok, so after looking at it again, it seems the infamous glue joint failure has also occured. Does anyone know of a better way to attach the cover back to the motor?

On my brothers 93 t/a he just screwed in three little screws and it has held together. We had the same problem with the glue not holding.
