I was checking my coolant level today and I noticed that on the stick there was a milky appearing substance on it above the level of coolant. Do you guys have any ideas on what this could possibly be? The level hasn't changed and the cars oil level hasn't changed any over the last 3,000 miles. It may be nothing but I have just never seen the film on there before.

might just be time to flush the coolant

 

If your radiator shows clean then your reservoir is just dirty.

 

I flushed the system less than a year ago and took the reservior completely out and cleaned it but it may be time to do it again. I will try that again soon I need to change my thermostat again anyway, thanks alot guys.
