Steering wheel radio controls question

Got a Lt1 T/A with the radio controls. controls work, bought the car used, they never have lit up when the lights are turned on. A friend of mine, she's got a '02 Ws6, same steering wheel... her radio controls light up. are my lights burned out? are 93 - 97 steering wheel controls supposed to light up? if they are, and mine don't can the bulbs be replaced or do you have to replace the whole pod assembly thing? any help on this would be great, thanks.

I believe they are part of the switches. I would say just replace the switches.

They light up but there are bulbs behing them. You'll need to get a small pick type object and get the switchs out from the wheel. Take them apart and heat the solder then remove bulbs and instert new ones before solder dries.
