2001 WS6 Trans Am 6spd, all stock, 23,000 miles.
I am in no way bashing the LS1.....its a superior motor, but this car just seemed to feel sluggish in comparision to my LT1 94 Z28. I realize it would turn in a full second faster 1/4 mile time, so I am no lunatic LT1 worshiper.
Has anyone else felt this way?

Yup, when I switched years ago I missed the snappy throttle response of the LT1. I wonder how much of that has to do with the twin smaller throttle plates on the LT1, and the big single plate on the LS1?
In first and second the LT1 feels quicker, but by the top of third I knew there was a difference.
Just curious, what is the asking price on that car?

Yeah thats true 4th gear was noticably stronger in this car. I dont know the asking price of the car. I was delivering it for a dealer friend of mine.
The car was very smooth, and much tighter than my old drop top 94. That kinda goes without saying though, 100k less miles, ttops instead of canvas top, etc.

I have driving a 00 WS6 trans am. And I was very happy with the whole performance aspect of it. It handled great, stoped great, and it definatly was not a slow machine either. I personaly would love to have one over the lt1. But I suppose to each their own.

I don't have a lot of seat time behind the wheel of an LT1, but I've never felt like anything is "missing" when I've driven them ..... until after ~3500 RPM, where they don't pull nearly as well as an LS1 .
That being said, this debate has come up so many times, and from people who own/drive both, that I think there has to be some merit to it. Even if it is simply the ~500 - 2000 RPM range that we're talking about, EVERYBODY seems to feel that LT1's have better low-end pull. I even have a few time-slips to prove that there isn't much difference between my LS1 or my friends' LT1s in the 60' range .
BUT, all that being said, try revving the LS1 out a little more, or dropping an extra gear, and crank that beast up a little ................ and hang on . Where the LT1 starts to fall flat on its nose from ~5000+, the LS1 is just getting warmed up .
