speed vs warranty

Interesting project. I have a very good and old friend who got bitten by the fbod bug and now is the proud owner of a cherry 02 Z28 SS. He wants more like everyone else. Problem is he has an extended 7/70k warranty and does not want to void it. What can we do for the guy? The car has 18k and is unmolested at this point. I was thinking GM HP parts as they are not aftermarket. He is thinking blower, but I don't see how with the problem. Whattayathink?

Re: speed vs warranty

.... I wish I had a warranty...ESPECIALLY one that extended to 70K... from my own experience... leave it as close to stock as he can till 70K and just don't beat to hard on it, if all goes well he'll still have a pretty reliable engine and a car to mod...Paitence...is a virtue...thats why I seriously lack of it....

This is not a daily driver and he lives in Chicago. Just fun in the sun play car. He just wants to be able to push it and if something fails take it to the dealer.

Most things with a C.A.R.B. approval should be fine. And don't go rollin' into the dealer for warranty work with shoepolish on the windows, sticky tires and tire boogers on the rear fenders and in the wheel wells.

Re: speed vs warranty

If we wants to maintain the warranty he should resist the urge to mod it.

Re: speed vs warranty

I had a friend who in 2000 bought a brand new z28. He had the same problem. and like birdman said he sprayed it. He started off with a 100 shot went up to the 150 and 3 warrantied rear ends and a warrantied clutch the dealership flagged his car in the computer and told him no more warranty repairs
