Something wrong with my hatch...

This just started the other day...i opened my hatch to get my t-tops out and i went to close it and it wouldnt close all the way, the hatch would go down all the way but it wouldnt "catch on" to the hook or whatever it is. So it basically stays open, i can just walk up to it without doing anything and just lift it up. Also, when i press the hatch release button it use to make a sound of the latch releasing or something even with the hatch open, but now it doesnt do that anymore either.

Anyone know whats wrong here?

Mine does that. (2K Z) Sorry for the late post. Was searching around. It does not catch completely. I think I'll have to replace it. It's prolly one of thoes F-body problems like the window motor.

Try using a key or something to manually unlatch it. then manually push the arm down inside w/ your finger. Then use the key FOB or the key itself to unlock the latch. Try to close the hatch again. Repeat as nesisary. (-sp?) Mine f*k's up it when it wants. Usually when I'm showing someone my sub Box..

Needs to be adjusted just loosen the bolts and adjust it up or down a little the reason it dosent make a noise when you push the button and its not latched is simply its not latched so it dosent see a need to pop the release. If its working now its possibly a little loose and needs to be tightened or could be from changing weather cold to hot and such causing things to move.

Pull back the semi rigid upholstery formed around the lock mechanism. It can be done without removing the two side covers. The lock mechanism is held to the body with three 10 mm bolts. Loosen them and move the assembly up a small amount and tighten the bolts and give it a try. I usually draw a pencil line around the bolts first so I have a reference where they were when I started.

I have the same problem, the latch stays open inside the housing. When I push a stake knife in the right hand side it of the enclosure, it closes the latch a bit and then starts working again. It will work a couple of times and then its F'd again.

Edit: I just tried the trunk adjustment and it seemed to work. Also about 10 liters of silicone lube lol.
