Some opinions would be great
I just bought a pair of dual tips for my exhaust set-up. They are 2 1/2 in and 2 1/4 out. 11" long total. However, I have run into a problem. My tailpipes which are 2 1/2 seem to be the exact same size as the tips. I figured 2 1/2 tips would mean they would fit with 2 1/2 tailpipes. I know I can take them down to the exhuast shop and get them expanded, but is there anything else I can do, i dont really see the worth in it if i have to spend $30-$40 to get my tips expanded to fit onto my exhaust. Any input would be great.
Also, If i were to use these tips...I have a feeling I would need to cut around 1 inch off of my tailpipes so that the tips would sit correctly, where I think they look best. How bad is it if i were to cut tailpipes, am i ruining something by doin that?

Re: Some opinions would be great
you could get a connector (2.5 to 2.5) and clamp it down with a band clamp or u-clamp (most likely band clamp, both are like 2 bucks at your auto store)
that would probably be good
also, you're not going to ruin anything by cutting the tips
just reconnect them like above or weld them or something
