SLP package 1995

Was it even available? i dont think it was but the car i looked at supposedly has an slp package, late 95 car and obd2. it has the spoiler on it, looks lowered and the 17" rims. my guess is someone else put em on there? or was it a rare early option without the SS name?

ALL 95's.... early and late, are OBD-I. They all have a 16-pin OBD-II style ALDL connector, but the PCM is OBD-I.

SLP built the early SS's (96-97) The SS package was not available until the 1996 model year. SLP offered additional "options" to the standard SS package it installed for GM.

thats exactly what i thought. they were trying to tell me its obd2 and it has a slp package on it. that it came with SS spoiler and suspension just not the hood.

i just thought it was they dont know the full life of the car and previous owners probably did things to it

I know a guy who is the original owner of a 1995 white Z-28 with all the paper work and it has SLP options on it, and it has the rear spoiler that yuou are talking about and there is an SLP badge on the rear bumper. I did not believe it until he showed me the paper work a few years ago. You can call SLP and give them the VIN number and they can tell you all about it. I did and they confimed this guys car.

crazy... so it could be a kinda rare car i guess huh?

not sure if i wanna do the trade yet.. he wants my LT4 motor and my corvette for his 95 camaro. stock heads/cam and intake, but bottom end is 396... i wanna do it but dont at the same time, it has no emissions and no exhaust.. itll be immediate money cause it definitely needs heads/cam and injectors/tune to wake up that 396

i would probably do it if i can keep my lt4 heads/intake

Perhaps he took it to SLP and had some options added. You say it had SLP options, but was it an SS? There were no 1995 SS's from the GM lot that I know of.

If all this that was said is true, that would be an interesting car. I wonder the same thing: did he bring the car to SLP and have work done to it?

The guy I said I knew about his white 95 z-28 with SLP options said he bought the car that way brand new. Now, the dealer could have taken it to SLP and had those options added, but this individual did not. I know SLP was around for along time before they had a contract with GM. Many people have things added to their car after they purchase it. When I bought my 2001 camaro ss I wanted the Berger Camaro package ($12000) and I was told I could of had it added onto my car as long as it was not more than 90 days of leaving the dealer lot. So, what I'm saying is my car came as an ss and I could of had it turned into a Berger ss but it would of had a different car #. So, I would think that the guy who is telling you that this car is an SLP car, it's very good chance it is, but came out of the factory as a regular z-28. Once again get the vin. and call SLP and they will tell you for 100% if it's true or not.

I'd say a firehawk but then again, your talking about a Camaro.

I believe the only way to get the SLP option was to get a 96-97 SS or if you went with the SLP 96-97 WS6. He probably added the SLP options afterwards.

In 96 and 97, the WS6 was made by AR... somebody. I know it is an acronym with AR... but I don't know the rest. SLP didn't produce the WS6.

Ok, I hope this will help the person who started this thread. I called my buddy who no longer has his 95 white SLP Z-28 and asked him for the VIN number (he still had some old insurance cards with the number). I called SLP and they told me it was not sent to them from GM, but in fact it was sent to them from Frei Chevrolet in Marquette Michigan in March of 1995. They added a new suspension, spoiler, brakes, etc. and left their shop with 8 miles on the car. They said they (SLP) does classify this car as an SLP car because the entire car was sent to them and it was #19. SLP said they did not have a contract with Chevy for the Camaro but dealers, or customers would send their car in. SLP said in 1995 they were only under contract with Pontiac to make the Firehawk. So, again call SLP with the VIN number and they can tell you if that car was in their shop. If they cannot confirm the car, them somebody bought and put the stuff on the car themselves.

In 96 and 97 SLP produced the WS6. In 98 through 02 ASC produced the WS6.
