i got my car used couple years ago. today i had my exhaust being installed when i got a call from my mechanic saying they had/have a problem. the mac headers i ordered for my car didnt fit up with any of the air/egr stuff so the mech called mac to see if i supplied the right ones. after half an hour on the phone with mac, mac said i didnt have a stock ls1 but some kind of slp engine or package for it. i got in too late to call slp to get details yet, and i only know the engine as stock. have you guys ever heard of this or do you think the mac guy was wrong? i only know of slp being in ss/ws6 or zl1's. anyway, i called texas speed since i got the parts from them to see what could be done. big thanks to brian. ended up buying block off plates, and mail order tune as other goodies not related to that problem. 160 degree therm. and msd wires. im baffled on the engine package thing tho, maybe aftermarket?

 

never heard of anything on a Z28 from SLP.. perhaps the mac guy has no clue and your mechanic, equally, has no clue..

I dont think I would feel comfortable having them work on my car..

In any case, its doubtful that SLP has done anything to your car considering the engine is never touched on the SS.. Its just a slightly different Z but all SS's start life as a Z..

i cant totally bash the mechanic. the only one who mentioned anything about slp package is from mac, not the mech. mac said it was something of only 500 made by slp. so i figured id inquire hoping i had something special but oh well.
