SLP options?
SLP options?
i am looking into getting my first ss.
is the slp package an "all or nothing" deal? or could you pick and choose what you got?
what is included in the total slp package?
thanks

You could pick and choose. basic ss was the hood and spoiler. Some of the options included the bilstein/eibach suspension combo, the 10 spoke 17" wheels, Auburn rear differential, floor mats, key fob, deck mat. Side of my door lists the exhaust as one of the options too, but I though they all came with it.
Basically it was a lot of appearence stuff. The meat and potatoes of the SS package was the handling option.

I believe the handling package, along with the hood, painted wheels and spoiler were standard on the 2002 SS, along with the wider and lower tires (275-40x17). As an option I chose the Hurst shifter, the SLP lid and SLP dual-dual exhaust, which sounds terrific.
on the passenger door jamb there will be a sticker listing what SLP options the car is equiped with. If it is an SS and that label has faded/been removed you can call SLP. They will sell the "birth certificate" for 50 dollars that has a list of options the vehicle was equipped with.
Options include:
chrome 17 inch wheels
floor mats
key fob
cat back exhaust (either the Dual/dual or the CME)
Bilsten shocks
345 HP package (2002 only)
All SS's get the painted 17 inch wheels, hood, spoiler. I think the hurst shifter was on all SS's too. I believe you could choose what options you wanted.

The Hurst shifter was an option, never standard (at least on the LT1 models). I have personally seen at least one 6 speed SS that didn't come with the Hurst shifter, and that was on a dealer's lot back in 96-97.
SLP offered the following upgrades for the Camaro SS (Below is what was available for the 02 SS) in general.
1) Wheels - Chromed ZR1's
2) Suspension - Bilstein Shocks and Springs
3) Auburn Differential
4) Exhaust - Loudmouth with either Dual/Dual or CME.
5) High Flow SLP Air Lid with Blackwing or K&N Filter
6) Interior items suchs as floor mats, truck mats, etc.
7) Misc. Key Fobs, Portfolio, Birth Cert. etc.
I'm sure if you wanted engine upgrades (when you ordered your SS) SLP would gladly accomodate you - $$$$$$$
The dealership where I purchased my ride (back in 02) had several SS's full loaded with the above from SLP. The sticker price for these were approaching close to 60K (CDN) practically near vette territory.
