Would putting a single cat Y pipe on a dual cat car make it single cat? Does anyone have the exhuast diagrams of both? Or even good under car shots of both? Thanks!
I guess I just figure 2 cats is 2x the restriction?
I see yout train of thought........I dont know, the 96+ cars with dual cats gained 10hp over the singles. ( too much exhaust trying to go through a single cat, vs. splitting up the exhaust into two seperates cats). I can tell you this, I gained NOTHING when I replaced my stock manifolds with my Edelbrock shorties. I did have a MAC Y-pipe and off road pipe when I had the stock manifolds and I gained over a 10th with that deal. When I added the shorties, track times were almost identical. Oh well, its a lot easier changing plugs with headers and they look a lot nicer
