Show me your headers!!! (o)(o)
Show me your headers!!! (o)(o)
Is there anyone out there who can post or email me some underbody pictures of their exhaust set up for a 77-81 Camaro smallblock?
I have a 79 Trans Am that I am going to swap a Chevy Crate motor into, and I'm looking for a true dual exhaust setup running through headers and twin converters and exiting in the stock location behind the tires. Can this be done with full length headers? I'd prefer to use shorty style headers if I could, but I've heard that block huggers wont work in an F-body. I know a few companies make a shorty header for Gen III and Gen IV F-bodys - will these retrofit into a Gen II?
Basically, if you have a system that works that didn't involve a lot of sledgehammering, please show me how you did it and what it cost. The engine I want to run is the new 290 HP GM Performance parts motor, and I'm worried that a stock type exhaust or an exhaust that runs both banks into one pipe would choke it off and kill too many ponies. HELP!!!!

$2,200 price difference for starters.
The way I figure it, going this route I'd have a car that runs 14's on 87 octane for less than $3500 total for everything needed to get it between the fenders. I'm perfectly okay with that since right now it runs 0's
