Shocks or Nitrous?

So I am trying to decide which one to get this spring, new shocks (Koni) or a nitrous sysem.

I just recently moved and there is a really nice drag strip about 20 minutes from me and 2 nice road courses within an hour, and I would like to do both this year.

Part of me says to get the shocks because it will make the car more enjoyable at all times (comfort and performanc) and help at the track, but the other part of me says do the nitrous because it would be so much fun when using it.

What are your thoughts?

I wouldn't think nitrous would be very useful on a road course. Since it is typically only used at WOT, it would seem that sudden addition of 150 lb-ft of torque would not be very stable. But, I don't really know - I only use mine in a straight line. I also wonder if any road race classes allow the use of nitrous.

You also have to look at total cost. Done right, a complete nitrous system will cost at least double the $500 or so that you pay for a basic kit. A total cost of $1,000 - 1,200 isn't out of the question.

I was looking at the "complete/total package" kit from Nitrous Outlet that come with the purge, blowdown tube, bottle heater, window switch, spark plugs....etc. I know I would probably need a few more things too but its pretty complete.

I don't think I would use the nitrous on the road course, only at the drag strip.

shocks. get the car to handle. That is what makes it fast.

Shocks play a big part even in drag racing. You can have 1000hp, but you wont go anywhere fast if you dont get it to the ground.

I gotta say the suspension. Also, for about $300 and 2 hours of your time you can go tubular on the rear suspension and control arm relocation brackets. I did mine, and it makes a world of difference in handling and launch. It added ZERO horsepower and it is probably the best mod I have done. Close second being the 11.5'' Drag Radials on the rear. That combination is astounding.
