Question Shipping an engine

Anyone have a preferred carrier or opinion of transporting an engine?

I use FedEx Freight. I ship engines with them, or I have used Daylight Transport in the past but they are a little more $$.
First time and easy=FedEx Freight.
Depends on weight and how far of course. FedEx will weigh it for you at their receiving dock and tell you how much it will be. A LT1 block I shipped 2 weeks ago from Alabama to Michigan=$160.00 w/ FedEx Freight.

It's easy...we take a long weekend and drive your pop's truck up there and bring it back with us. Would be a fun little road trip and you know it will get back in one piece.

I use American Freight Company. Cheapest rates on the net and good people. They look at several different carriers to find the best rates. Call 1-800-532-2409 and ask for Maxine and tell her Daryl from Revolutionary Performance sent you. If she isn't available anyone else can handle it but she always treats me right. I ship engines pretty often and it is usually around $150 shipped to a business that doesn't require a liftgate or around $230-300 shipped to a residence that requires a liftgate to unload.

This is off subject, but revolutionary, you are a supporting vendor. What do you do?

Ryan, If you decide to do something like this you can always have it shipped to my Dad's work where they have a fork lift, so that would save you a little money.

I was thinking about bringing it to my work, but dang, what a pain to lift it off of a trailer and put it on a pickup truck!

I may take you up on that, though I haven't ruled out a roadtrip .

I own Revolutionary Performance and Machine and build engines for a living. If you check the top of your screen you'll see my banner come across there every so often.

Yeah, if you have it shipped I would definitely ship it to my Dad's work cause they can unload it with a forklift and then load it up in you truck the same way. Would be much easier than doing it by hand. Then you can use the hoist to lift it out of the back of the truck at home.

But, I think a roadtrip would be more fun!
