I am new to the board and am not very car savvy so please be gentle. Here is my dilemma...

I have an 95 Camaro Z28 automatic and for about 3 months now I have had the hardest time getting getting out of park and into any other gear. It's almost impossible to push down on the button to get it in gear even with the brake applied. Can any of your Camaro gurus be of any assistance?

After looking at the shifter, I don't think that the solenoid would fix my problem. It looks as though it might be a mechanical problem. Any other suggestions?

 

Wow after reading this I think mines broken, I just thought it was like that...

 

disconnect the solenoid and see what happens.
