How do i remove an automatic shifter **** in a 1996 Z? Just bought an aftermarket one and i'm not sure how to install it. Thanks.

 

pull out the staple on the front of the ****, pull off

 

Well to make it easy put the car in low gear so the shifter is way back and you can acess the front easily. You'll see a small rectangle whole in the front of the ****, inside is a small metal piece that looks just like a staple. With a pair of needle nose pliers pull it out but becareful not to hit yourself in the face. After its out the **** will come off, you might need to pull pretty hard, once again don't hit yourself in the face. Then just put the new **** on and replace the staple piece and your all set.
